March Bullet Journal Round-Up
If you are a planner like me, bullet journals are a gift from above. However, it seems that when you start filling in one month, you have to start planning for the next month. In the past, I have kept my designs and layouts relatively simple. So working on the month ahead wasn’t too difficult, but that has changed.
In the interest of expanding my horizons and challenging myself, I decided to make March way more involved design-wise. I have more drawing, more doodles, a more intense layout, and an overall more cohesive theme that isn’t overbearing (like all the hearts in February).
I want to give you a little peek at what my March layout looks like.
It starts relatively simple with the March title page. As you can see, I added an appropriate homage to St. Patrick’s Day and all things Irish. I worked really hard on that ‘slainte’ doodle at the bottom there. I think it came out looking rather good, if I do saw so myself. I found it when googling “St. Patrick’s words” and then just tried to copy what I saw.
Next is a new Month-At-A-Glance layout I am trying. I feel like the cleaner look may help me use the page a little more than I have in the past. I added a real monthly tasks section and I am using the ‘notes’ section to write down my goals. The ‘reminder’ section is where I chose to put my theme for the month. I chose “Willpower” because I am trying a pretty intense new spending limit this month for my non-essential items. And yes that is an Irish Pusheen and friend.
Now, as you can see in the image below, I am also trying a new Gratitude Log layout. The idea is to write what you are thankful for in each box. We will see how this works. I have that next to my StrongLifts progress chart. I recently discovered that the StrongLifts app gives you these nifty little progress graphs so I figured I would add it into my bullet journal and see how it goes.
Not pictured is my March Goals page. These are a little private still so I want to see how my progress goes before sharing. I did add a little spending chart at the bottom of the goals page so I can visualize how close I am getting to my budget limit with each purchase.
Finally I have two pretty labor intensive Week Layouts. I made them way more visually appealing and am trying to keep some consistency in the top header for each week. Adding the doodles and the different layouts will not only help me up my drawing skills, but will hopefully help me figure out exactly what does and does not work for me. I added the weekly habit tracker back in, because I think it forces me to be more accountable. I also want to work on more deliberate handwriting, so I think the smaller areas for notes will force me to write a little more carefully.
